Water and Sewer Services

Water and Sewer utilities are provided by the Town of Garfield. To sign up for services or any questions regarding these services, please contact Garfield Town Hall at 509-635-1604. Do not use the toilet as a trashcan- only flush toilet paper or body waste. EVEN IF YOUR TOWELETTES THEY SAY THEY ARE FLUSHABLE, THEY ARE NOT. PLEASE no flushing paper products besides toilet paper.  THANK YOU!!

Garbage Service

Garbage service is provided by the Town of Garfield.  To sign up for services or if you have any questions about garbage service, please contact Garfield Town Hall at 509-635-1604.  We also have 2 or 4 yard dumpsters available for rent for those larger clean-up projects.

Garfield Single Stream Recycling

The Town of Garfield will no longer be offering curbside
recycle collection. All items below that were collected
curbside can now be dropped off at the recycle shed in the large BLUE single stream recycling container from the county. Please place ALL accepted items into the large blue bin. Please remember NO PLASTIC BAGS allowed.

Drop Off Items:

  • Newspaper - bundled please
  • Magazines – bundled please
  • Aluminum cans
  • Tin/steel cans (no labels please and rinse too)
  • #1 PETE beverage bottles (no caps please)
  • #2 HDPE milk jugs (opaque only, no colored
    plastic, no lids please)

Dog license

Please respect your neighbors and city ordinances by:

  • Keeping your dogs on a leash while off of your property. This protects our children and pedestrians.
  • If your dog begins barking, please take them inside.
  • Be sure to clean up after your dog if he or she uses someone else's property as a bathroom. Thank you for this consideration. A fine can be levied if this rules is not followed.
  • You can begin licensing your dogs in January of each year. If you’re new to town, please stop by town hall to get to know us and introduce us to your dog.

Help Us Keep Your Dog Safe - 2021 Dog Tags Now Available at Town Hall.
$5.00 if Spayed or Neutered; $10.00 if not.

A current rabies certificate is needed before a dog license can be issued. Also, if you are getting a Spayed or Neutered license, please bring a certificate showing such. Thanks so much for keeping your dog healthy and safe and Garfield a great community to live in!

Garfield Drop Off Recycling

Yard Waste: (Located at west end of Main Street on Anderson Road):

  • Organic yard debris only
  • Available to Garfield Residents Only (All Others Subject to Fines)

Grass should be dropped next to the concrete barrier and should only contain grass clippings.  Branches, leaves, and other garden or yard debris can be dropped in the center of the drop off location.

Please no lumber or construction waste. Thank You!!

Appliances/Metal/Used Oil: (Located at 5th Street and Front Street – brown metal building, behind concrete elevator.)

  • Appliances (24 hr)
  • Used oil drop-off (24 hr)
  • Metal (24 hr inside fenced area only)

Garfield-Palouse School District

Education in Garfield is handled by the Garfield-Palouse Co-op. Each town has their own elementary school, the middle school is in Garfield, and the high school is in Palouse. Small class sizes are one of the many benefits of the Gar-Pal Co-op.
